I can completely relate to anyone who is eager to learn more about cannabis, about the endocannabinoid system and how phytocannabinoids respond with our body.
One of the reasons why I started CBD Sloth was because I became fascinated by it all, but it was incredibly hard to find where to pull information from. So below I will try to detail out the best ways to learn about CBD.
CBD Courses
If you want to learn more about CBD then one of the best places to start is with an educational course, helping you to get a qualification.
However, following a number of emails with various Universities across the country, I couldn’t find a single offering a medical cannabis degree. I hoped there would be a medical cannabis bachelor of science course somewhere, but for the moment it seems you’d be limited to diplomas.
On ReedCourses, you can take on a Medical Cannabis & CBD Oil Diploma Course, for £49 (on other websites it’s advertised as £147, so make sure to pay this cheaper price).
However, it doesn’t provide a formal qualification. The certificate comes from the ‘Centre of Excellence’, who claim their courses are accredited by the Complementary Medical Association. In the UK, I don’t believe these are recognised, so I see this as a useful course and tool for self-improvement.
If you want a qualification to put next to your name at a low cost and a chance to increase your knowledge on medical cannabis then this is a great option. But I want to state again that this doesn’t make you medically qualified to give health advice.
Another online course is the Healer Training Programme, which I was offered for free for a year and gave a go.
Run by Dr Sulak, the course will train you on everything about cannabis, including videos, multiple choice questions and theory. I loved the way it was broken down into categories, while they do gamification very well, completing certain sections and getting percentages so you can feel like you’ve progressed each time you give it a try.
The course costs $249 for the yearly subscription and also includes a monthly live Q&A with Dr Sulak.
Blogs & Mags
I will of course highlight that there is a lot to learn on CBD Sloth, from how hemp can help bees to how hemp can replace plastics. I have an advice section on my top navigation panel, while if there is something you want to learn about, please don’t hesitate to get in contact.
If you want to read through other blogs, I have included a list of the best CBD bloggers in the industry.
You might also want to subscribe to the Cannavist magazine, which comes out on the last day of every 3rd month of the year. The magazine involves interviews with key figures in the industry, informational articles and plenty of tips and advice.
When it comes to information on the industry, I also regularly check out The Extract and Leafly.
Conferences & Expo’s
Conferences and exhibits offer a great opportunity to network with people in the industry and to listen along to the seminars in place.
I have to give a massive shout-out to both The CBD Show and the World CBD Awards, both of which I strongly recommend attending. If you’re based in the USA then you’re spoilt for choice for events to attend.
You can see a list of the best CBD conferences and expo’s in the world on my blog, where hopefully you can find an event local to yourself. If there isn’t one, why not set something up yourself, it could simply be a pub meetup for those who are fascinated by the subject.
