I recently wrote about the Medterra CBG and CBD oil tincture, which was a truly intriguing product which I loved testing, while now I’m focusing on their signature product in their extensive range, the Medterra CBD oil drops.
How Much CBD Do You Get?
They offer three versions, being 500mg, 1,000mg and 3,000mg, all provided in a 30ml tincture.
The lab report supports the stated level of cannabidiol, while it also highlights this to be an isolate CBD oil, with no other cannabinoids showing up as present in the certificate of analysis.
The lab report also shows that the batch came back clean of any pesticides, residual solvents and heavy metals.
Not sure how to read the lab report? Check out my guide on reading a certificate of analysis.
What Carrier Oil Do They Use?
Medterra use MCT oil, organically produced, which is the best carrier oil for CBD.
MCT, or medium chain triglycerides, help to carry the CBD directly to the bloodstream and avoid the metabolism process. This means that you get a greater bioavailability compared to some other carrier oils that can be used.
Of course, MCT has a number of other great benefits, such as providing you with energy and helping you to lose weight, but the main reason for its presence in this product is purely to ensure a decent level of bioavailability of CBD into your bloodstream.
How Much Do I Use?
Whichever strength you opt for, it will come in a 30ml tincture and you’ll get a dropper which has clear measurement markings, making it easy to dose a full 1ml.
1ml of the 500mg tincture would provide you with 16.66mg of CBD, in a 1,000mg it will provide you with 33.33mg of CBD and in the 3,000mg tincture you’ll get 100mg of CBD.
As the maximum daily recommended by the FSA is 70mg of CBD, you should therefore not use a full 1ml tincture if you get the 3,000mg strength.
Most people will tend to use around 20mg of CBD when they start out, then adjust based on their personal requirements. I like to have around 40mg before bed, but what I need may be very different to someone else.
How Does It Taste?
This isn’t a flavoured CBD oil, while it doesn’t have that strong bitter, grassy hemp taste that some can have. However, if you particularly want a flavoured CBD oil then you might want to check out the CBG + CBD oil they have, which is citrus flavoured.
But as I mentioned, this is very much tasteless, which can sometimes be a blessing compared to some of the more intense tastes you can get with an unflavoured option.
Where Can I Order A Tincture From?
You can purchase the Medterra CBD Oil Drops from their website for £44.99 for the 1,000mg version. Alternatively, you can pick-up the cheaper 500mg tincture for £26.99, or if budget permits, the 3,000mg is available for £89.99.
You can enjoy 15% off with the discount code ‘CBDSLOTH15’, meaning the 1,000mg CBD oil will come down to £38.24.
I’d also recommend having a look at the CBD Immune Boost Oil before making a purchase, as I was a big fan of this one.
