medterra immune boost

During these bitterly cold winter months and with all the fear around the pandemic, what better product to review than the Medterra CBD immune boost, packed full of healthy ingredients to give your body the boost it needs right now.

We constantly hear about the various benefits of CBD, of which I won’t list here, but there aren’t enough products that combine CBD with other healthy ingredients, so this product really stood out for me.

How Much CBD Do You Get?

Each bottle contains 750mg of CBD, while this seems to be an isolate, so no other cannabinoids were present. This also means the THC levels showed up as ND (not detected).

As you would expect from a decent certificate of analysis, they go through the various cannabinoids and terpenes, as well as checking for heavy metals, microbials, solvents and pesticides. The pesticides all come up clear, having come from organic hemp, something you expect but is always worth double checking. Hemp is highly porous, so if they didn’t use organic hemp then they could contain pesticides or chemical fertilisers. Just the same, for this product to qualify as ‘organic’, it must contain completely organic ingredients.

How Much Do I Take?

A single full dropper is 1ml, which is the recommended serving size. This will provide you with 25mg of CBD, however you can adjust your consumption based on how much you’re hoping to get, which could be influenced by your tolerance levels. One thing I always really like to see is the size markings on the dropper, meaning if you only manage to pull 0.75ml through the dropper, you can then just add 0.25ml straight after to get the desired amount without any guesswork.

A single serving also contains 35mg of Vitamin C, alongside 60mg of their immune boost blend, which contains a number of herbs.

I took this first thing in the morning at breakfast time, to strengthen my immune system for the day ahead. As CBD needs to be taken sublingually, you should avoid adding it to a juice or a hot drink and instead make sure you place the full dropper of liquid under your tongue and hold it there for 1-2 minutes before swallowing.

Well, I wasn’t ill at the time of taking the Medterra Immune Boost CBD drops, while I didn’t get ill once during the testing period, therefore I’m very happy. It’s hard to fully work out how much something you consume is the deciding factor, as we can’t see what’s going on under the skin (unless you have a lab to hand), however we can see the science behind the ingredients included and determine that they’re all clinically proven to help our health for various reasons, as I’ll cover below.

Why Do They Include Ashwagandha?

Ashwagandha is commonly used for stress, with its roots (no pun intended) based in India and the Middle East. This ancient medicinal herb is also commonly advertised as a great tool to reduce blood sugar levels, as well as improving insulin sensitivity.

It has a strong reputation, largely in the bodybuilding industry, for helping to reduce the stress hormone cortisol, which plays havoc with the body.

Why Include Reishi Mushrooms?

Reishi mushrooms might be a little ugly on the eyes, but they pack a major boost to the immune system, making them an ideal addition to the Medterra Immune Boost CBD Drops. From affecting the genes in the white blood cells to altering inflammation pathways in the cells, reishi mushrooms are a great ingredient for your health.

They’ve also been shown to help increase energy and tackle depression, which affects 19.7% of people in the UK. With its high levels of antioxidants, mushrooms are a great ingredient in general, helping to fight off free radicals.

Why Include Elderberries?

Elderberries are great for the immune system thanks to their high levels of vitamins and antioxidants, making them a highly nutritious option to help fight off cold or fly symptoms. Beyond this, they’re also high in fibre, something people in the Western world don’t get enough of, meaning they can help to aid your digestion (read up on the gut-brain axis and you’ll understand why that’s so important). Elderberries are also brilliant at strengthening your bones and aiding in weight loss, not to mention their benefits to your skin and hair.

Why Include Ginger Root?

Whenever I used to feel ill, I would pile my meals full of ginger and garlic and I’d normally feel better within 24 hours, it was my go-to trick that worked wonders during the winter months. One of the reasons why ginger makes it into everyone’s ‘beat the cold’ list is because of gingerol, the bioactive compound within ginger that is packed full of antioxidants and contains anti-inflammatory properties.

The list of health benefits behind ginger is ridiculous, so I won’t go into this, but what I will say is you should be trying to add it into your diet where possible (maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing eating those ginger bread men after school).

Where Can I Purchase This From?
