This week I’ve been reviewing the first of five Elitemii products, a premium CBD softgel capsule. I had to hand the experimentation over to my girlfriend for this one, because I’m absolutely useless at swallowing capsules, but I made sure to ask her a hundred odd questions (enough to drive her insane).
How Much CBD Do You Get?
A single softgel capsule contains 10mg of CBD. There are 30 in a pack, so a full pack contains 300mg of CBD. You can obviously adjust the amount of capsules to meet the amount you require or you’re targeting, with the general recommendation being 1-3 per day.
As I normally have 10-20mg of CBD in the morning and 20mg before going to bed, you could equally split your dosage based on when it suits you.
As always, the max dosage ever recommended is 200mg, being 20 capsules, but I wouldn’t recommend going anywhere near that figure.
This is a full spectrum CBD oil, utilising the full plant extract via supercritical CO2 extraction methods which are commonplace in the industry. Considering it uses the full plant, you will also get the other cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenes working together in unison in what is known as the entourage effect.
A look over the certificate of analysis shows a decent amount of CBC, as well as a small amount of CBN and CBG.
It should be stated that these are not vegan friendly, as they do contain bovine gelatine. Raquel also commented that they went down incredibly easy, being softgel capsules.
What Else Is Included?
Beyond the obvious ingredients, you will also find vegetable glyrerine, which is an ingredient often included with oils, often from either soybeans or coconut oil. The virgin hemp oil works as the carrier oil, along with the CBD from the cannabis sativa L.
Why Take A Capsule?
One of the biggest benefits to taking a capsule rather than CBD oil is that there is no ambiguity, you know you’re getting the exact dosage stated. With a dropper, it can be hard to tell exactly how much you’ve put in your mouth, so this removes the guess work in a very easy system.
Another reason is the taste, many people do struggle with the taste of CBD oil, hence why flavoured options sell so well. I’ll be honest, I’ve always weirdly liked the taste of unflavoured CBD oil, but I do know I’m in the minority.
But if you’re impatient then not having to drop CBD oil under your tongue and holding it there for 1-2 minutes will be a big relief. With this, you just swallow the capsule and move on with your day.
One other factor is how discreet it is. Dropping oil in your mouth and holding it there for a couple of minutes can be a little bit difficult in an office if you don’t want everyone to know. Capsules can be kept at your work desk and simply taken when you feel you need it, such as in the build-up to presenting or a big meeting.
Where Can I Buy These From?
The capsules are available on the Elitemii website for £25.99, as a pack of 30. It’s also great to see they offer free shipping in the UK with no minimal order. They aim to dispatch on the same day as the order is made, providing you get your order in before 2pm. Delivery is normally between 1-4 days, via Royal Mail.
