mindful-extracts-balm

Back almost one year ago, I had the good fortune of testing out the CBD oil by Mindful Extracts, testing both the 5% and 20% strength, so I got to see how both ends of the spectrum were from this brand.

I’m now very excited to try another product by Mindful Extracts, being their CBD muscle and joint balm, being just one of their topical products available, so make sure to have a look at their lip balms and bath bombs.

What Does This Product Contain?

Firstly and most importantly, the stated levels of CBD is 300mg in the 50ml tub, while the lab report shows above this level.

According to the lab report, this jar also contains some CBG, CBC and CBDV, which aren’t always present in a CBD topical, as they most commonly come purely as an isolate, so this is a little added bonus.

The lab report isn’t currently on their website, but if you email to request this, they will send it over very speedily.

There are also a number of other great ingredients that you will find in cosmetic treatments, such as ginger, copcaiba, peppermint, Vitamin E, sunflower seed, bay leaf, rosemary and juniper berry oil.

Why Include Juniperus Communis Fruit Oil?

Juniper essential oil is a great natural healer, used in cosmetic treatments to help with rashes and infections.

The outer layer of your skin, known as the epidermis, faces a constant barrage of attacks, however juniper oil can help to repair and strengthen this layer of skin, preventing impurities from entering the skin.

Juniper has also been used in many muscle balms as it can help to ease muscle aches and joint pains, as well as calming any swelling.

What’s The Benefit Of Copaiba Oil?

You’ve undoubtedly heard about the great health benefits of Vitamin E or ginger, but if someone mentioned Copaiba oil, most will look a little confused.

The oil is extracted from the trunk of the Copaiba South American tree, while much like juniper oil, it is commonly utilised to help with sore muscles and joints.

It also has the added benefit of helping to prevent the appearance of wrinkles and creating a youthful radiant glow.

How Does It Smell?

It has a subtle scent, with peppermint being the most notable aroma, but also it’s not too overwhelmingly strong, as some can really be quite an intense smell.

This is a much more subtle scent, meaning you can put it on at work without people noticing.

How Easily Does It Spread?

Being a balm rather than a cream means it takes a bit longer to get enough on your finger or you have to be a bit more vigorous with it, but this also stops you from putting on too much at once and being wasteful.

Make sure to rub it onto your skin in circular motions for 20 seconds, giving it enough time to be absorbed sufficiently into the skin.

Where Did You Test It?

Having got a squat rack for Christmas, I did use this on the targeted muscles for each workout, but it was squats which made me appreciate to have this to hand, rubbing it vigorously on my hamstrings and quads, in order to prevent DOMS and speed up the healing process from a heavy workout.

I have to say that I didn’t have any really bad aches and pains the next day, however you need to make sure to combine this with plenty of warm-ups before the workout and stretching both before and after.

Where Can I Buy This From?

You can order the Mindful Extracts CBD Muscle & Joint Balm for £25.49, currently reduced from £29.99 (at time of writing).

They do offer free delivery on orders over £40, so it could be worth combining this with some CBD oil or even a supplement such as Ashwagandha capsules, while their CBD lip balms are very reasonably priced at £5.99.
