hempoid-lemon

Following on from my review of the unflavoured full spectrum CBD oil by Hempoid, I’m now taking a closer inspection of the lemon CBD drops. The Hempoid CBD oil is contained in a 10ml tincture, with MCT coconut oil used as the carrier oil.

How Does It Taste?

It tasted incredibly nice, a bit like a lemon drizzle cake, with a sweet aroma to the oil. The flavour comes from lemon oil, a completely natural ingredient which is extracted from the peel of fresh lemons. Known to improve your skin and boost energy, lemon essential oil has a long list of benefits, so not a bad ingredient to include.

This is a CBD isolate, which means it won’t contain a number of terpenes that can affect the flavour, such as alpha-pinene, which makes the oil smell of pine trees.

If lemon isn’t your flavour of choice, they also offer a mint flavoured CBD isolate.

How Much CBD Do You Get?

You can order the lemon CBD drops in two different strengths, 500mg and 1,000mg, of which I’m testing out the 1,000mg version.

Being an isolate, they have focused on just delivering CBD and removing any of the other cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenes present in cannabis. This is supported by the lab report, which highlights it reaches the 1,000mg highlighted on the packaging (going just over). It did have a fractional quantity of CBDV, CBN and CBGA, but barely a trace, not that this is a bad thing, I’m a huge fan of many cannabinoids, especially CBG. As it states on the packaging, it’s ‘99% pure CBD’.

As previously mentioned, some flavoured CBD oil’s are isolates rather than full or broad spectrum, so that the taste isn’t affected by a number of the terpenes, but the compromise is you do miss out on those cannabinoids, which can provide an entourage effect. If you’d rather get the full extract, make sure to look at their unflavoured option.

As is ever the case with all high quality CBD brands, they utilise a supercritical CO2 extraction process in order to yield the greatest levels of cannabinoids from the plant. They use 100% organic crops (highly important considering how porous hemp is) and the product is vegan friendly.

Who Are Hempoid?

Sadly, one of the owners suffered severely from chronic ulcerative colitis, a long term condition which they have had to deal with throughout their life. Traditional options can help, but don’t always gain the results people are after, which is what brought them to CBD.

While the brand has focused on releasing a set of CBD oil’s, they do have their eyes on the future and further product development, so keep an eye out for future product launches.

The hemp is grown in sunny Croatia and is organic-certified, while the brand is part of the European industrial hemp association. They comply with GMP certification requirements, as well as all applicable governmental regulations.

Where Can I Buy This From?

You can order the Hempoid Lemon CBD Drops from their website for £40. They offer free standard shipping on all orders, via Royal Mail. You can also enjoy 25% off with the discount code ‘CBDSLOTH25’.
