While most people opt for CBD oil as their go-to cannabis based supplement, this can lead to slight variances in dosage each day, so capsules and softgels offer an alternative option that will provide you with a precise quantity of CBD each day. This is the second product I’m reviewing by the illustrious brand Joy Organics, one of the biggest CBD brands in the USA, following on from the Joy Organics CBD Gummies.

How Big Are They?

I’m useless at swallowing capsules, so I’m happy to say they’re very small! Also, as you can guess from the name, they’re softgel capsules, meaning they’re much more easy to swallow than traditional ones.

How Much CBD Do You Get?

A pack provides 750mg of CBD, while each softgel had 25mg of CBD. They pack in 30 in a box (ideal for one a day, lasting you a whole month).

You can alternatively opt for the 10mg softgels, meaning an entire pack would contain 300mg of CBD.

One thing I do appreciate is you’re getting the lab report for the actual batch, something every CBD brand should offer, but some seem a little more secretive (hence I spend my time chasing them down for the actual batch test, so they’re not hiding anything naughty).

The softgels passed all your basic checks, ensuring the hemp plants didn’t get sprayed with pesticides, or that any heavy metals were present.

It was also a nice bonus to see the level of CBD in each capsule was actually a little higher than the stated amount. This was a CBD isolate, meaning the softgel didn’t contain any other cannabinoids. If you’re not sure of the difference, have a quick look over my guide to the difference between a full spectrum and a CBD isolate. This product therefore contains no THC, or at least it is shown as ‘not detected’ in the tests.

What Do They Mean By Nanotechnology?

This is starting to become a very interesting buzz word in the CBD industry, as brands are working out interesting ways to enhance the bioavailability after consumption.

Nanotechnology relates to any form of research and innovation around creating something on the size and scale of an atom.

Basically, a nanometre is a billionth of a metre, therefore anything around ‘nano’ is relating to the ridiculously small size (Greek translation for nano is ‘dwarf’).

So what does this all have to do with Joy Organics? They have formulated their softgels so that it applies nanoemulsion technology in every softgel, decreasing the particle size. This makes it easier for your body to absorb the cannabinoids, while you should yield similar benefits with a smaller serving size. They also formed to be water-soluble, which is integral as traditional CBD oil would simply end up as waste if swallowed.

When Should I Take The CBD Softgels

It depends what you’re hoping to achieve from taking these. For example, if you’re hoping to improve your sleep then before bed would be ideal, whereas others might be interested in experimenting with the product to help against anxiety, therefore they should take it before the time that will effect them the most, such as before work.

In general, capsules tend to take approximately 30 minutes to dissolve in the body, with softgels taking slightly less time to dissolve. However, the full effects are normally felt between 1-2 hours later.

It can be worth experimenting with your timing, this is what I do every day to see what works best for me. How long it takes can be effected by factors such as how recently you ate.

Where Can I Purchase This From?

You can order the Joy Organics CBD softgels everyday formula in the UK and Europe from Pairidaeza Health for £47.94. You can also get a unique discount if you’re a Blue Light Card member. If you’re based in the USA then you can alternatively get it from their website.
