I have tried the Pineapple Express CBD e-liquid and the Girl Scout Cookies e-liquid, but I wasn’t aware Orange County had introduced a range of rechargeable vape pens, so I was delighted to give one a go. In fact, I recently updated my review, as they were previously disposable, but they’re now rechargeable, which is much more ideal, as you can just pick up a replacement pod when yours is running low (charged at £16.99) and allowing you to mix flavours.
While I don’t regularly vape, I know this is by far one of the most popular sections of my blog, so I do my best to try as many vape pens and e-liquids as possible, to share my experiences and help guide people on the best ones to buy.
What Flavours Do They Have?
As always with Orange County CBD, they have an expansive range, meaning you can find the one that suits your taste buds.
These include mimosa, lemonade, strawberry Kush (which I’m trying), gelato, mango haze, wedding cake, banana Kush, zittlez, blueberry muffin and Alien OG.
The aroma is described as citrus, pine and strawberry, which I’d say matches quite well. You can taste the strawberry without it being overwhelming or overly sweet.
How Many Puffs Do You Get?
Each disposable vape pen comes with 1,000 puffs worth of juice. The liquid contains 750mg of CBD, therefore each puff should contain 0.75mg of CBD.
The FSA recommends no more than 70mg of CBD in a day, which would mean a maximum of 82 puffs, but the average person should need far less than this.
I split my dosages during the day for a continuous supply of CBD, taking 10 puffs per hour while working, in four intervals, which works out as approximately 34mg of CBD in a day.
Beyond CBD, the lab report also highlights that the liquid contained a small amount of CBG, CBDV and CBC.
Is The Rechargeable Pen Pre-Charged?
Yes, the moment you open the packet, it’s ready to go, but unlike the older disposable versions I initially wrote about, this one can be recharged when the battery runs low.
How Long Does The Battery Last?
I have already mentioned the move towards a rechargeable option instead of a disposable vape, well that means the battery life isn’t just a big factor as beforehand, as you can easily charge it once it’s running low, via USB-C.
They don’t state the mAh (basically the battery life), however the old device had 900mAh, which lasted for the entire usage of testing the product, but I wouldn’t want to guarantee it can last the whole 700 puffs.
How Does The Pen Come Packaged?
The pen is sealed inside plastic packaging, which you can easily tear the top off to break the seal. Inside is purely the vape pen, nothing else, with the liquid pre-loaded into the pen.
There is a little lid on the top of the pen that you can take off when using and put back on afterwards for hygiene purposes, especially if leaving it in your pocket all day.
There is a little light at the bottom which lights up when you breathe in with the pen. You can also easily see the quantity of liquid remaining with a transparent chamber near the top.
On the back of the pen, you’ll find a QR code, which takes you to the lab report page on their website. At the time of writing, the lab report for this product hadn’t yet been uploaded, as it is new, but I emailed them and they were more than happy to send it over, so feel free to also email the brand for the lab report if you want to check this before trying it.
Does The Pen Easily Fit Into Your Pocket?
Yes it did, the pen measured 4 ¼ inches by ¾ of an inch, so that easily snugged into my pocket alongside my wallet.
One important test I took on was whether any liquid spilled out, as I’ve had this with a few vape pens back in the day when I used to vape when drinking (I’ve managed to go cold turkey and quit it all).
I carried it around for 3 days in my pockets to meetings and to bars and I didn’t have any pocket spillages, so it certainly seems decently sturdy.
How Was It On The Throat?
I’m happy to say it wasn’t harsh on the throat at all, and that is coming from someone recovering from an annoying cough. It felt smooth going down the throat, I had no issues at all.
They have mentioned about crystallising, something I didn’t personally experience, but sometimes the liquid can become crystallised. If this happens to you, just warm the device up in your hands and the CBD should return to a liquid state. This is a common issue with CBD e-liquids in fairly high concentrations, not an issue with the product, but just something that happens and you just need to warm it up for 10 minutes and it should be solved. Obviously don’t do something crazy like heating it, it just needs room temperature.
