I’ve been trying plenty of CBD products recently (understatement of the year), however there is something incredibly relaxing about having a CBD tea in the evening. I love a warm drink when relaxing in front of the TV, but I always feel guilty about consuming anything packed full of caffeine, preventing me from sleeping at night. But CBD tea has the complete opposite effect, easing any anxiety and stress from the day and allowing you to drift off comfortably. I will be reviewing the full Buddha Tea range, starting off with the CBD Turmeric & Ginger Infusion.

What Does It Taste Like?

The main flavour you get is the turmeric, which is unsurprising when the ingredients is made up of 60% turmeric, followed by 30% ginger root. It tastes quite similar to Golden Milk, especially with the added black pepper.

This is an odd one, because the first time I tried it, I didn’t like it, placed it to the side and didn’t look at it again for another week. When I tried it the second time it really grew on me and it’s now my favourite by this brand, so I’d call it a ‘slow grower’.

I do like the fact that even in the box, each tea bag has separate packaging. While some may argue about excessive usage of packaging, I think this ensures the quality of the tea bag. This isn’t your usual cuppa, CBD tea isn’t a cheap drink and I don’t want it to get damaged or spoiled at all, so I’m a fan of the packaging.

How Much CBD Will I Get?

Each cup will give you 5mg of water-soluble CBD. I personally aim for about 10mg per day, so I will have one cup in the morning and one in the evening.

Why Turmeric?

This bright yellow spice, often found in curries, is largely being recognised as a superfood due to its long list of health benefits. From preventing blood clots, to joint support, heart health and healthy cholesterol levels, turmeric can help in so many ways, largely thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties. It can also help to ease stress and even support weight loss.

How Long Does It Take To Brew?

The recommended time is 3-6 minutes, however if you’ve ever drunk green tea before then you will know the longer you allow it to brew, the more antioxidants will be present in your drink. For this reason, I tend to leave it about 10-12 minutes, which also offers a stronger taste.

How Long Will A Pack Last?

You get 18 tea bags in a pack, so if you were to have one a day then you’ve got just over half a month. Some CBD tea’s you can brew multiple times, however as the tea contains 5mg of CBD, I would recommend using the bag for a single serving.

Where Can I Buy These From?

These can be purchased from the Buddha Tea website, where you will see the full range on offer, with a single box available for £16.99 at time of writing. You can also cut your cost per serving by buying multi-packs. They also offer free shipping on orders over £20.

When Should I Drink The CBD Turmeric & Ginger Infusion?

This can be drunk at any time of the day, however as it contains cannabidiol hemp extract as well as no caffeine, it makes for a great evening drink an hour before going to sleep.
