I’ve had the pleasure of trying another Spanish based CBD brand in Meet Harmony, the creation of Antonin Cohen, which started back in 2014 and has now ventured into vapes, oils, isolates and essential terpenes, with the premium natural CBD oil being the focus for today. I have to say, completely irrelevant to the review, but I really liked the colourful design on the packaging. Of course, this doesn’t come into play when reviewing the quality of the CBD oil, but thought it was worth mentioning and dothing my cap.
How Much CBD Do You Get?
Unlike many other CBD brands, this has a recent batch test when researching, dated in April 2020 (may be updated since). The pack I’m reviewing contains 1,000mg of CBD, while the batch test showed slightly higher which is reassuring.
Being broad spectrum, you also have other cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenes, allowing you to benefit from the entourage effect. In the lab reports, you can also see some CBG and CBDV, while I’m highly interested in the potential benefits of CBG, something I’ve been studying a lot more recently.
It should also be stated that this is a broad spectrum, which is the name for the oil when it contains other cannabinoids, but it doesn’t contain any THC. This is interesting, and important, for those who are tested and can’t have any in their system, from athletes to teachers. All of the testing is conducted by Eurofins Food Integrity Testing, based in Harrogate.
This oil is also vegan friendly and contains 100% natural ingredients, while they don’t use any synthetic additives. You should always try to keep it out of direct sunlight, to ensure you keep the quality high.
How Much Do I Take?
The general recommendation is to take a full 1ml dropper. This would contain 33mg of CBD, with the full bottle being 1,000mg. I like to take some in the morning and some before bed, but I stuck to taking this just before bed to test how well it made me fall asleep and to ease my constantly over-thinking mind.
The dropper has markings, helping you to easily work out if you have had enough. As the bottle goes down, you inevitably won’t be able to easily catch the full 1ml in one go, so I’d recommend doing it twice in one go with 0.5ml amounts, so you still keep a precise measurement.
Being a Spanish CBD brand, the laws are a bit different, as they can only advertise these as topical treatments, so if you read anywhere that it is to be placed on your skin, this is just to get around the law, but I would recommend sublingual consumption.
Which Carrier Oil Do They Use?
Interestingly, they actually use a combination of two, being MCT oil and organic olive oil. The addition of a carrier oil is always essential to help increase the bioavailability after consumption, while medium chain triglycerides are the best I’m aware of, from coconuts.
It tasted a little different at first to most other CBD oil’s I try, but it dawned on me afterwards that it was the taste of the olive oil that came through. If you’re someone that struggles with the taste of unflavoured CBD oil then you might find it interesting that you couldn’t really taste it in this product, with it being overpowered by the olive oil taste.
