I have tried copious amounts of different flavours when it comes to CBD oil, there seems to be a new option every week, however I can’t say I have had too many orange flavoured CBD oils.
This is disappointing, as the two orange flavours I’ve had previously were amazing, so it is something I always look out for and the moment this was sent over I was more than eager to give it a try.
Of course, taste is a secondary factor in why you should buy this, but it’s a nice added bonus if it tastes great!
How Does It Taste?
It tastes incredible, the orange hits you much like a Terry’s chocolate orange. I’ve had a Google and Terry’s chocolate is an English thing, so I’m not sure if my American readers will have a clue what I’m talking about, but it’s a great tasting chocolate orange ball.
The aftertaste is where the cream comes in, with a smooth tasty flavour that goes down a treat.
However, if orange isn’t your thing, they have a number of other options available, including mint, strawberry lemonade, cherry, or in its natural flavour.
I’ve never minded the natural taste of CBD oil, but I know I’m in the minority, with most struggling to take it daily, so if this is the case for you, I can certainly recommend the great taste of orange cream.
Is This Full Spectrum, Broad or Isolate?
This is a broad spectrum CBD oil, containing the stated quantity of CBD, along with a small amount of CBC, CBG, CBN and CBDV. It’s a broad spectrum as it doesn’t contain any THC according to the certificate of analysis produced by Kaycha Labs for FOCL.
Which Carrier Oil Do They Use?
FOCL have opted for organic MCT oil in all of their CBD oil’s, which is my favourite currently, working brilliantly at increasing the bioavailability after consumption, while MCT also has a number of other health benefits.
How Strong Are The CBD Drops?
I am testing out the 1,000mg CBD drops, however they also offer a 2,000mg and 3,000mg CBD oil.
The one thing to remember when it comes to purchasing your CBD oil is that you shouldn’t look at the price of the tincture, instead you should look at the price per MG, as you will benefit from economies of scale as it gets cheaper per MG higher the strength.
It’s also worth remembering if you’re based in the UK that this is a 30ml tincture. 30ml tinctures are the most common in the USA, whereas in the UK you most commonly get CBD drops in a 10ml tincture, so you then need to work out your dosages slightly differently.
For example, I personally went for 40mg of CBD per day during the testing period. A full 1ml dropper contains 33mg of CBD, therefore I had to place a full dropper and then a bit under a quarter to get my dosage.
Whereas if this was a 10ml dropper containing 1,000mg of CBD, I would only need 40% of the dropper to get my dosage.
Who Are FOCL?
I always try to give a glimpse behind the curtains as much as possible when reviewing different CBD products, so you can learn about the brand and how they were started.
FOCL is a Californian CBD brand, based in Thousand Oaks, while it was launched by the accomplished serial entrepreneur Ken Lawson.
A father to four children and with an intense work schedule, Ken had been suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome and was fed up of the usual treatments handed out at the doctors office, which instigated the launch of FOCL as he turned to alternative treatments.
Ken, the founder and CEO of FOCL, launched the company with the aim to ‘create effective plant powered wellness products to support your peak performance’.
They now have a range of products, including oils, gummies, topical treatments and daily supplements.
