Water soluble sprays are an interesting point for me, considering I really wanted to try mixing some into smoothies and CBD oil wouldn’t work from a bio-availability viewpoint, so I was very excited to start reviewing the Amma Life Water Soluble CBD X. I’m reviewing the 10ml bottle, but you can alternatively get a 5ml or a 20ml bottle.

How Do You Take The Spray?

Whereas with pipettes you normally have to measure out a precise number of drops, which can be confusing at best, a spray removes the question around precise measurements. You spray between 1-3 pumps, with each spray containing 8mg of CBD, therefore you can opt for the amount of sprays based on how much you need per day. You can also take it at multiple times during the day. I normally have some first thing in the morning and last thing at night an hour before bed.

Make sure to shake the bottle before spraying. The massive benefit to having a water soluble spray is that you don’t need to have it on its own sublingually, you can add it to your smoothie in the morning or with the drink of your choice.

How Much CBD Do You Get?

The 10ml bottle contains 400mg of CBD, providing 8mg per serving. This is a full spectrum product, containing 2mg of THC, 1mg of CBC and 1mg of CBN according to the third party lab test results. There are also a number of terpenes present in this water soluble spray, including myrcene (herbal, found in thyme), caryophyllene (a peppery taste), limonene (gorgeously citrusy, found in lemons and oranges), pinene (pine, often found in rosemary) and linalool (floral, often found in lavender). Terpenes are known to have a number of different potential effects and therapeutic values.

What Are The Benefits Of Curcumin?

If you were to look at the ingredients, the second most present is curcumin. I’m a huge fan of curcumin, now supplementing with it each day, as the number of recognised health benefits seem to be growing by the year.

You might not have heard of curcumin before, but it comes from turmeric, which you’ve undoubtedly heard of if you’ve ever had a crack at making a curry or have a fair few herbs and spices in your kitchen.

Curcumin has anti-inflammatory properties, helping to fight off chronic diseases. It also contains plenty of antioxidants, which help to fight off free radicals in the body, which cause damage to your DNA and are the main cause of ageing.

But here are two tips to increase the absorption, as curcumin has a terrible reputation for not being absorbed at all after consumption. Firstly, many curcumin supplements include piperine, as this has been shown to increase absorption drastically! Piperine comes from black pepper, so you could just add a little to your drink. Fortunately, this product has added black pepper extract, therefore there is no requirement, but you might want to add a little extra to help that little bit further as I can’t see the exact quantities, while it is also an important consideration if ever taking curcumin as a supplement as many of them don’t contain any. My second tip is to add a little shot of MCT oil, further helping as a carrier oil. But as previously stated, what is so amazing about this water soluble product is that it has a 10 times greater absorption rate than your usual CBD oil.
