It has been a good while since I got to review a CBD product in a drinkable form, so I was very excited to give this product a try.

The CBD botanical spirit is handcrafted in small batches, combining botanical ingredients with CBD, while it’s served in a beautiful looking bottle.

Is This Alcohol Free?

That’s right, this is 100% alcohol free. Long gone are the days where the only low or zero alcohol option was a poor tasting alternative to a beer.

If you’re looking to enjoy a nice drink in the garden with family or friends, but don’t want the guilt of the calories or the hangover the next day, then this could be the answer for you.

How Many Calories Are In A Serving?

Considering I’ve been on a diet for 4 months now (it feels like it’s never-ending), where I’m limited to 2,000 calories per day, which has to fuel two workout sessions per day, my first instinct was to check the calories on the back.

Being non-alcoholic, I was relieved to see that in a 50ml serving, you get merely 2 calories. The Gordon’s alcohol free that I have in my drawers is 6 calories per 50ml, making this a third of the quantity. That’s quite a statement, considering I chose Gordon’s alcohol free option as it was so low calorie.

Obviously, you have to consider the calories from your mixer, but with a sugar free slimline tonic, you’ve barely taken in any calories.

How Much CBD Do You Get In A Bottle?

A 500ml bottle provides you with 25mg of CBD, therefore meaning you will get 2.5mg of CBD in a 50ml serving size.

One important factor is that the hemp is present without being overpowering, as can sometimes be the case with cannabis.

How Do You Serve The Maria & Craig’s CBD Botanical Spirit?

This is partly down to your personal preferences, however the base recommendation they provide is that you should mix 50ml of the CBD botanical spirit with 150ml of a premium tonic and then garnish with a fresh orange peel. You can alternatively swap the orange peel for a slice of orange, or simply squeeze the orange into the glass.

I of course gave this a try, while I also have a bit of a sweet tooth, so I made an experiment which I very much enjoyed (don’t judge me), mixing the botanical spirit with some 7up Zero, which added a lemon and lime hit.

What Botanicals Do They Include?

As is the rule of gin, it must have juniper included in order to qualify as a gin, something I saw on a TV show about the growth of the gin industry in the UK.

But beyond the distilled juniper, they also have added an interesting combination of ingredients.

They have opted for sage, a popular herbal addition to a G&T, so it makes complete sense to add this aromatic herb to the ingredients.

The next ingredient is camomile, a common ingredient in herbal tea, taken before bed to help improve sleep quality.

The final taste of note is the orange blossom, also known as orange flower water, distilled from the blossoms of the orange tree (if you hadn’t guessed by the name). Of course, this is the flavour that comes through and truly makes this a really enjoyable drink.

Where Can I Buy This From?

You can order a bottle of Maria & Craig’s CBD Botanical Spirit Distilled Non-alcoholic 500ml from their website for £22.99, while they accept card payments or PayPal.

The shipping is free within the UK, unless you’re after next day delivery, which will cost £1.50.
