While CBD oil’s take centre stage in the media, we’re seeing a strong growth in more diverse CBD products, including balms, creams and ointments. I’m taking a closer look at a CBD balm by Voice of Nature, a UK based brand launched by Alfonso and Petra.

The label is biodegradable and printed with vegetable ink, while they use 100% natural ingredients, meaning no colourants, fragrances or preservatives.

How Much CBD Do You Get?

The 30ml balm contains 2% CBD, which is 600mg. I applied a small amount daily during testing, which would approximately come to 5mg of CBD’s worth. Based on this daily usage, that would come to around 120 days.

The lab report highlights the combination of CBD and CBDV present. Cannabidivarin is only ever found in small quantities in sativa industrial hemp, more commonly found in Indica cannabis plants.

Why Include Shea Butter?

Shea butter is included in a number of body lotions and body butters, as it helps to moisturise the skin and reduce any skin inflammation. Beyond its long list of skin benefits, including its ability to reduce stretch marks and boosting the elasticity of the skin, shea butter tends to also add a nice aroma to many skin products.

Why Include Coconut Oil?

Much like the previous list of benefits highlighted for shea butter, coconut oil will also reduce skin inflammation and moisturising dry skin. A common treatment for acne, coconut (nucifera) oil will protect and sooth the skin.

Why Include Mango Butter?

Mango butter, or Mangifera indica seed butter, is the fat extracted from the kernels, making a semi solid oil which is exceptionally high in oleic acid and palmitic acid.

There have been some studies connecting mango butter with the potential to prevent the development of wrinkles, as well as protecting your skin against the damaging effect of UV rays from the sun.

Why Include Sweet Almond Oil?

As well as being found in body butters, sweet almond oil is also commonly found in under eye creams and ointments, as it can help to reduce puffiness and under eye circles.

Sweet almond oil can cleanse the skin of toxins, opening the pores and clearing the excess sebum. It can help to moisturise the skin and the high levels of zinc means it can bring moisture to dry hands.

Who Are Voice Of Nature?

Voice of Nature is a Dorset based CBD brand that launched in late 2020. Offering CBD oil, balm and a set of beautiful bath bombs, the brand was introduced to help provide a set of products that are sustainably made, with nature and people coming first.

I also spoke to Alfonso and asked him to provide a few words himself, detailing more about the business and why he launched Voice Of Nature.

“Our company is everything about respect for people and nature. We are a couple passionate about our planet and hemp. We created Voice of Nature to be a meaningful company that really cares about the general wellbeing.”

“The ethos: Our planet deserves better. We live in a world with limited resources, which deserves our respect for its natural cycles and processes.”

“As such, we are green and eco-friendly to the core, we use minimal (and recycled) packaging, vegetable inks, our web servers are run with renewable energy (and servers are actually a huge source of greenhouse emissions that people/companies tend to forget or overlook), we partner with like-minded companies, and we use COMPOSTABLE containers for our balms, this is a great innovation and achievement in our race to be a plastic-free company in the near future.”

“The compostable containers are made with wood chips savings and natural resins, and its overall carbon footprint is less than either aluminum or glass.”

“We plant one tree for each delivery and besides we plant a monthly set amount of trees to compensate for our carbon footprint as a company.”

Where Can I Order This From?

You can purchase a Voice of Nature CBD Balm from their website for £32.99. You can get free UK delivery on shipping if you spend over £15, which this product easily passes. You can also get 20% off with the discount code ‘SLOTH20’.
