Say what you want, but I’m completely a bath guy! I love relaxing in the morning after a workout in the bath tub before starting work, so it was inevitable I’d end up reviewing some CBD bath salts. This is the first of the product range by Best Life Botanicals I’m reviewing, looking at four different options. I’ve got pink grapefruit, vetiver & lavender, lemon and orange.

How Much CBD Do You Get?

A single 140 gram pack comes with 10mg of CBD. How much CBD you have in one dose is therefore dependent on how much you pour in, but I was a bit lavish and included the full dosage for a single bath. A pack costs £9, while it’s completely vegan friendly and 100% natural.

Why Use Bath Salts?

There are a number of great benefits to using bath salts. These water soluble beauty items help to draw out impurities from the skin, as well as excess sebum. If you’re in a highly polluted area (yes, I’m looking at my friends from London) then this is a great way to help remove the pollution and toxins from the skin surface. There are other perceived benefits, such as increased blood circulation, helping to heal dry skin, while they’re also said to have been made to offer the same benefits as relaxing in hot springs, which have long been spoken about for their skin and health benefits.

But on top of this all, I feel there is a certain psychological boost, even if this is a bit of a placebo. Pouring in some bath salts and some bubble bath and playing some relaxing music, I have the best ideas while relaxing in the bath, often helping me to create some of my most social campaigns.

How Are The Lemon Bath Salts?

These have a citrusy scent, which is strong when you smell them directly, but subtle once they mix into the bath, similar to the others, where it is very subtle in nature. Look up most homemade bath salt kits and they will often highlight lemon as a key ingredient. Lemon peel is packed full of antioxidants, offering large quantities of Vitamin C.

Lemon can also work as an astringent, meaning it will tighten your pores and help to prevent a breakout, especially important if you have oily skin. But as another benefit, dip your head below the water and the lemons antiseptic properties help exfoliate your head and remove dead skin cells.

How Are The Orange Bath Salts?

I’m a fan of an orange scent so I might be biased, considering I have a satsuma shampoo, but I do like the scent of this option. Orange peel is often used in skin scrubs, largely thanks to its high Vitamin C content. The main arguments for its usage is largely similar to lemon, being that it can help exfoliate the skin and help to offer a health glowing skin appearance.

How Are The Pink Grapefruit Bath Salts?

This one has the most subtle scent. Grapefruit essential oil has long been touted for its skin firming qualities, an increasingly important factor as the years tick on. But it isn’t just about leaving the skin firm and moisturised, it’s also a great detoxifier for the entire body and is often used in bath salts and mixed with Himalayan salts.

How About Vetiver & Lavender?

I feel the whole world knows about lavender, but not as many people know about vetiver, so I’ll start there. Vetiver essential oil comes from the vetiver plant, often found in India. The scent can be described as relatively earthy, but in a nice way, it reminds me of the smell of a spa, but that could be the combination with lavender. Vetiver is becoming an increasingly popular ingredient for acne treatments, as well as helping to deal with acne marks. It has hugely impressive anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, while it is also often used to help deal with stress, which makes sense why it is partnered with lavender.
