Continuing the Naturecan protein range (following on from the CBD infused protein cookies and before trying out the CBD protein brownies), I’ve been trying the CBD infused protein balls. These are made with 100% natural ingredients and contain no artificial sweeteners, colours of flavours.
What Do These CBD Infused Protein Balls Include?
The protein balls contain dates, cashews, a protein blend made up of pea protein and hemp seed protein, maple syrup to add some sweetness, plus oats, cocoa powder, desiccated coconut, natural flavourings and, most important, Cannabidiol.
Just in case you want to work out your macronutrients: A single protein ball, which is 40 grams, contains 156 calories, with 5g from fat (1.4g saturated fat), 21g of carbohydrates (15 from sugar) and 6 grams of protein.
How Do They Taste?
The most notable taste is dates, which is unsurprising considering it makes up 51% of the ingredients. I liked it, it wasn’t too chewy like some other protein balls. I wouldn’t say the ‘chocolate flavour’ was highly noticeable, as I say, the date flavour was certainly what you could taste.
While dates are the strongest taste, the cashews do add a sort of creaminess to the texture which is very pleasant.
How Much CBD Do You Get?
Each CBD ball provides 25mg of CBD, which is relatively spot on what many people take in a day who supplement with CBD.
Are These Vegan Friendly?
Yes, as you can see from the ingredients listed earlier in the article, this product uses pea protein and hemp seed protein rather than whey, which means it is completely vegan friendly. This is good luck as I’m doing a 1 month experimentation where I’m going vegan, so it means I can tuck into these.
Who Are These Suitable For?
It should be first stated that these aren’t to replace a healthy diet, any protein based supplement is exactly that, a supplement on top of a healthy and balanced diet. If you’re on the go or don’t have a huge amount of time (or can be bothered) to make a proper meal, then items such as protein bars and protein balls are very useful.
They allow you to reach your macro nutrient requirements easily, plus if you’re out of the house then it might be hard to find somewhere to grab a good source of protein. Having said that, this product might not be suitable for people who are on a strict diet and have to keep their sugar levels down, as dates naturally contain a fair amount of sugar.
This is also great for those who want to consume CBD but don’t want to take it as an oil or don’t like the taste when having CBD oil. This is part of an ever growing range by Naturecan as they tackle the usual CBD edible list to provide you with various different options.
Where Can I Buy These From?
You can purchase the Naturecan CBD Infused Protein Balls from their website for £11.99 as a box of 6 individually wrapped protein balls. The useful part about them being individually wrapped is you can eat them separately when you want without you having to worry about the quality deteriorating.
