I recently wrote about the Purity Hemp Co Jelly Domes, while I’m now taking a look at their signature product, their CBD oil.
Which Carrier Oil Do They Use?
One thing I love about Purity Hemp Co is they put that question back to you, what carrier oil would you like? They offer both hemp seed oil or MCT, meaning medium chain triglycerides.
MCT, derived from coconuts, is the more expensive option, however I always prefer to go for MCT as it has been shown to enhance the bioavailability of CBD after consumption at a greater rate than other carrier oils, helping you to absorb more of it.
Hemp seed oil will provide you with some omega 3, important when you consider how much we lack omega 3 in our Western diets, while on the other hand, MCT has a number of benefits, from providing energy to helping aid weight loss.
You can read more about the different carrier oil options here if you’re curious to learn more.
How Much CBD Do You Get?
You first have to pick whether you want 5%, 10%, 20% and 40%. From that point, you also have to pick what size tincture you want, with these factors affecting how much CBD you get.
The weakest option is the 10ml 5% CBD oil, providing you with 500mg of CBD, while up the other end, you can get a 30ml 20% tincture, containing 6,000mg of CBD, or if you wanted a higher concentrated option, you could purchase the 40% 10ml tincture, containing 4,000mg of CBD.
The one I’m testing is the 15ml 10% tincture, containing 1,500mg of CBD. The lab report also shows it contains CBDV, a non psycho toxic cannabinoid which has a similar structure to CBD.
Pesticide Report
While I sift through endless amounts of lab reports, one thing that bugs me is some brands don’t opt for the extra cost to ensure the lab checks to see if the oil is free from pesticides, solvents and heavy metals.
I see this as a requirement, as hemp is highly porous and if it wasn’t grown in an organic way, then the pesticides could transfer through to the oil. Ensuring your CBD oil is organic is something you should always check for.
I can happily tell you that Purity Hemp Co publish their banned substance control certificate from the third party lab, passing every test.
The Packaging
While many CBD oils you order in the UK market come in cheap packaging with a label loosely put on to the tincture, I was highly impressed by the packaging of the Purity Hemp Co CBD oil.
Arriving in a stylish box, perfectly holding the CBD oil in place and giving you a good area to store it so it doesn’t go missing.
As you open the box, you will see a message from Michael Walker, the founder of Purity Hemp Company.
As well as the oil, the box also contained the little bag that can hold the CBD oil in as well, in case you want to take it to work or keep it in your bag.
Even the feel of the CBD oil tincture is a higher quality than I’m used to. This shouldn’t affect your purchasing decision, but I always go in with the mindset that if you put a lot of time and effort into your packaging, it’s because you have a product you’re proud of, unlike some of the brands that are simply after a quick buck and will cut corners where possible.
Where Can I Order This From?
You can purchase the Purity Hemp Company CBD oil from their website, with the 15ml 10% tincture available for £72 with MCT oil, or £64 with hemp seed oil.
Depending on your budget, the CBD oil prices start at £35 and go up to £189. I would generally not recommend going for the 500mg, if you’re starting out, try the 1,000mg CBD oil, being the 10ml 10% option.
