I barely finished my last pack of CBD gummy bears when the Green Roads sweet tooth series CBD gummies arrived, much to my joy! What better life could you ask for than being asked to review sweets? This will be the first of 3 products I will be reviewing by Green Roads, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled for the next products if you’re interested in their range.
How Do They Taste?
Incredibly tasty! I am slightly hooked to the apple flavoured gummies. It tastes just like an apple sweet I had through childhood.
The flavours included were blue raspberry, lemon, cherry, green apple and orange, while the packaging also stated they were introducing a new flavour to the pack, being strawberry. A close behind the green apple was the blue raspberry, not a flavour on paper I thought I’d love, but it was indescribably tasty! Well, I’ll do my best at describing, but it just burst with flavour, easily one of the best I’ve ever had.
How Do You Take Them?
They recommend taking 1 gummy bear each day, while this would provide you with 10mg of CBD. I’m a fan of having 20mg of CBD at a time, therefore I took two bears, but you can base this on what you require, start with 1 bear and go up if required.
Considering the general recommended max currently is 70mg of CBD, I therefore wouldn’t have more than 7 bears. Having said that, it would mean consuming a large amount of sugar, so I’d stick to 1-2.
Almost every CBD brand that sells gummies doesn’t include a guide on how you should eat them, so I’d like to highlight one point that is often missed. Rather than chewing and swallowing straight away, like you would any other sweet, remember sublingual consumption will allow for a great portion to be absorbed sufficiently.
I would therefore chew for a couple of seconds and then move the gummy to below your tongue and hold it there for a minute, before carrying on eating the sweet and swallow.
Certificate Of Analysis
One thing that frustrates me with a few other brands (something I am a fan of Green Roads for) is they will have lab reports on their website dating back a year ago for a batch that doesn’t correspond with what you’ve ordered. On the Green Roads website, under the lab sheets on the product page, you can see the list of certificates of analysis, while you can then check the base of your product to see the correct batch number for the product you ordered, in order to ensure you’re getting accurate readings of the cannabinoids present in your gummy bears.
Being an isolate, these contain the CBD stated on the packaging, while they don’t contain the other cannabinoids that are present in the hemp plant. This also means it contains zero THC (or no-detected on the lab reports).
The third party lab reports are conducted by Kaycha Labs, who are based in Florida, while they also check for pesticides and heavy metals which could be present (happy to say these come up clean). This is an important step in checking the quality of what you’re ordering, as hemp is highly porous and you don’t want pesticides to be used as they will transfer through to the final substance following extraction.
Are These Vegan Friendly?
No, the relax bears contain gelatine, so if you’re on a vegan or vegetarian diet then you won’t be allowed to eat these (depending on how strict you are).
How Much Sugar Do These Contain?
A single serving, which is 1 gummy bear, contains 3 grams of sugar. Considering the recommended dosage is 1 bear, this would mean 3 grams of sugar per day from these, but you will have to adjust these numbers if you’re having multiple per day.
As they do contain sugar, I’d generally recommend having a drink of water afterwards, to dilute the acid and to protect those shiny teeth!
Where Can I Purchase This From?
You can purchase the Green Roads CBD Relax Bears from their website for $43.99 (around £32.70 for my UK friends), which is $1.46 per gummy bear (or £1.09). I’m also happy to say you can get 10% off when you use the discount code ‘CBDsloth10’.
